The Sed package contains a stream editor.

10.11.1. Installation of Sed

Prepare Sed for compilation: 

./configure --prefix=/usr --bindir=/bin --enable-html

The meaning of the new configure option:

--enable-html

This option tells Sed to build and install its HTML documentation.

Compile the package: 

make

To test the results, issue: make check.

Install the package: 

make install
