The Make package contains a program for compiling packages.

10.49.1. Installation of Make

Apply upstream fixes:

patch -Np1 -i ../make-3.82-fixes-1.patch

Prepare Make for compilation:

./configure --prefix=/usr

Compile the package:

make

To test the results, issue: make check.

Install the package:

make install

Installed program: make

make

Automatically determines which pieces of a package need to be (re)compiled and then issues the relevant commands
