6.30. XZ Utils-5.0.5

The XZ Utils package contains programs for compressing and decompressing files. Compressing text files with XZ Utils yields a much better compression percentage than with the traditional gzip.

6.30.1. Installation of XZ Utils

Prepare XZ Utils for compilation: 

./configure --prefix=/tools \
     --build=${CLFS_HOST} --host=${CLFS_TARGET} \
     --libdir=/tools/lib64

Compile the package: 

make

Install the package: 

make install
