10.61. Automake-1.14.1

The Automake package contains programs for generating Makefiles for use with Autoconf.

10.61.1. Installation of Automake

Prepare Automake for compilation: 

CC="gcc ${BUILD64}" ./configure --prefix=/usr \
    --docdir=/usr/share/doc/automake-1.14.1

Compile the package: 

make

To test the results, issue: 

make check

Install the package: 

make install

Installed programs: aclocal, aclocal-1.14, automake, automake-1.14, compile, config.guess, config.sub, depcomp, install-sh, mdate-sh, missing, mkinstalldirs, py-compile, symlink-tree, ylwrap

Generates aclocal.m4 files based on the contents of configure.in files

automake

A tool for automatically generating Makefile.in files from Makefile.am files. To create all the Makefile.in files for a package, run this program in the top-level directory. By scanning the configure.in file, it automatically finds each appropriate Makefile.am file and generates the corresponding Makefile.in file
