The Free Ryzom campaign has unfortunately failed. Gameforge.de was the winner, and to hear the Free Ryzom folks tell it, they were more or less nudged to the side without a fair chance.

Be that as it may, the pledge drive picked up 170K euros, which is a lot of money in my book. And with that kind of groundswell, it begs the question of whether another game of similar quality could be freed.

Personally, I wish I had heard about it a little sooner, so it could have been played up a little more on the forums.
