Possible broken package: linux-image-generic?

It looks like there are some problems with a recent kernel update. Discussion is here. It might be wise to wait on updates until this is spotlighted and resolved.

Edit: Dapper is affected too.

    Would that I had read this before I did the update. In my case (with dapper) it looks like

    linux-image-686
    linux-restricted-modules-686

    dpkg says these only have copyright and changelog information. Hopefully this will get straightened out soon — unlike the time when a Fedora kernel update left me without sound for most of a week.
