The problem is geography — I have to ship to a stateside address (the early buy option is only for U.S. or Canadian addresses) and, well … I’m not in the U.S. right now. So I’m contacting some friends there to see if they’ll reroute it to me.

If I can iron that out, I’ll complete an order.

And don’t bother telling me about those better, cheaper alternatives you think you know. Or about how the program is faulty and it will never work. Or how efforts like this are detrimental to third world countries, rather than benevolent.

None of that will change the fact that they’re cute little laptops.

Edit: Lucky me, my friends were online and said they didn’t mind. The problem now is that I can’t seem to complete an order. I confirm the address and payment, and Paypal kicks me back out saying, “This payment cannot be completed and your account has not been charged. Please contact your merchant for more information.”

What the … ? So now what? 😦 Try again later, I guess.
