xmonad seems to be all the rage on the Arch Linux forums (and sort of, but not really, on the Ubuntu Forums … if the mention of xmonad counts as a “rage” for anything other than the default Gnome desktop), and while awesome was only vaguely interesting, I have to admit that I find some of those tiled, ultra-sparse desktops appealing.
For example, finferflu’s xmonad desktop actually seems attractive to me. There’s almost nothing there, but that says everything to a minimalist.

My weekend is upon me; perhaps I’ll give xmonad a try, and see if it offers my lust for Openbox any competition. 🙄
