If you’re using Xfce on Gutsy, and you’d like an easy way to upgrade to the 4.4.2 version, there’s a 21Mb collection of deb files available here, put together a community member. tw1ggy.ramir3z calls them a Christmas present, and I suppose if you’re not into installing them the slower way, it could be a present.

I haven’t had the chance to install them yet, although I ironically have a full Gutsy Xubuntu system on one machine, and so I’ll see what luck I have putting them into place. It should go without saying that installing software from a forum post comes with a slight risk attached, and that you shouldn’t install software from an untrusted source, etc., etc.

I’ll see what happens next. 😉
