So long, Feisty Fawn

Tonight marks the death knell for Feisty Fawn, which you might find touching if you started out with Ubuntu a year and a half ago. It seems like just yesterday servers everywhere were so hammered by requests for the ‘Fawn that some of them actually just put up a page pointing downloaders elsewhere.

Ah, the good old days. Of course, if you’re still running Feisty, I salute you. I can’t say when I last had a Feisty system in place, but if this blog is at all accurate, it was about a year ago, on the eve of 7.10. And for me, Gutsy was such an improvement that the ‘Fawn was quickly forgotten.

All the same. … Selah.

My sister’s computer and the laptop still run Feisty. It’s worked all this time and hasn’t broke yet. By the way, when do the Feisty repositories incinerate, or was that part of the “death knell”?

I’m not 100 percent sure. I know there will come a point where the only way to get at the Feisty software will be the ISO, but I’m not sure when or who decides on that.
